Dress Rehearsal

Sunday 5th December
The Drama Studio, Eggbuckland Community College, PL6 5YB.

The show is just around the corner! Thank you for your commitment so far.

Please get in touch if you are able to assist backstage with your child's group when you are not watching the show yourself. Parents who have offered to help back stage are asked to attend the dress rehearsal so know what will happen on the day (one parent per child at the dress rehearsal and no siblings).

Although we have 2 boys taking part in the show our students have requested that our changing rooms remain female only spaces. Therefore we request any parent or adult helping backstage is female. Our boys will have a separate dressing room. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

At the dress rehearsal:
  • Please only enter the Drama Studio at you child’s designated time, we have restricted space at our morning dress rehearsal and want to allow everyone the appropriate amount of space. On the day we will have use of the Gymnasium as our changing area.

  • Please sign your child in and out.

  • Please come ready to dance which your hair already in a ballet bun that is in line with the cheekbones/top of the ear on the back of the head. There are head pieces for the children to wear. Bun tutorial can be watched by clicking the ink below! No hairspray or aerosols are to be used in the dressing rooms as it will set off the fire alarm.

  • The photographer will be in attendance at our dress rehearsal.

  • Each group will have a costume sheet with a photo and description of their costume.

Backstage:
  • No food is permitted back stage and only water may be consumed around the costumes.

  • Avoid bringing any valuables as the school will not be liable for any loss of personal items.

  • We ask parents to encourage children to remain calm and seated whilst waiting to be called to side stage. This ensure the children’s safety and also prevents any damage to the costumes. In the past children have brought along a book to read, however please do not send your child along with a colouring book and pens as this could mark the costumes.

  • We understand it is a very exciting time and that parents will want to take pictures of their children in their costumes, however we do ask that you refrain from putting these on social media until after the performance to avoid spoiling the surprise for the audience. Please only take photos of your child.

We have reduced the capacity of the theatre. Access to the theatre and the seating involves stairs. A reminder that our Sunday performance is being filmed to produce the DVD, we ask that young children do not attend on this day to avoid disruption to the recording.
