The Stephanie Boast School of Dance was founded in 2012 by Stephanie Boast upon graduating from The Royal Academy of Dance. The school has always been based in the North of Plymouth and in January 2013 found a home at Tor Bridge High Sport Centre.
In July 2014 the dance school received the overall award of Dance School of the Year 2013. The award was presented by Wayne Sleep OBE and Anne Walker MBE. Stephanie was over the moon, surprised and honoured to have won! Thank you's were extended to her family and friends for all of their support throughout the 2 years of business and to the families, friends and students of the Stephanie Boast School of Dance for their ongoing support and participation in all that we do! Also to the judges Allison Coyne and Jonathan Grey – Editor of the Dancing Times.
Following the schools' success as Dance School of the Year 2013, Stephanie set up a second branch of the school at Fort Stamford Health and Fitness in Plymstock. Classes grew quickly and soon developed waiting lists.
December 2014 saw the schools' first annual performance at The Sound House, Plymouth. Due to popularity the school put on an additional performance to cope with the demand for tickets. The show, The Nutcracker, was a huge success and set a high standard for the future.
2015 saw the school continually grow, adding more classes to its timetable and offering many exciting opportunities to its students. A group of senior students performed at the Theatre Royal in "Dance Plymouth Dance" a celebration of youth dance in the city.
In 2016 the school was again selected as a finalist in the Dance School of the Year awards 2016. The school won the Silver award in their catagory which was presents by Angela Rippon CBE and Anne Walker MBE who went on to say: "So many of the schools did all the things you would expect from a really good dance or theatre school - it is those that have gone that extra mile in their attitude or social care policies that have got the judges vote with one judge saying “I am really impressed by the way so many schools are instilling a sense of community responsibility in their pupils.”
The school continues to grow and progress, Stephanie looks forward to welcoming you to her exciting and inspirational dance school.
